This kitchen remodel removed the below-ceiling-height structural support that separated the kitchen from the living room, as well as the support column that was attached to the old island. Replacing the angled island with a large, single-height rectangular island dramatically improved the utility and opened up the kitchen to be a better place for social gathering. We also replaced the tile floor to engineered hardwood to match the rest of the main living space, replaced all of the cabinets, and replaced the crowded pantry with cabinet pantry.
